Teens had the ‘first’ buzzer in every round of Ninja Warrior season 13 - American Ninja Warrior Nation

riariaga.blogspot.com

Who were the “firsts” of American Ninja Warrior season 13? For some reason, we found ourselves wondering that today. During each round of the competition, which Ninja was the first to reach the buzzer?

When we looked back at the results, it was very clear that there was a trend in place. In the Qualifiers, Semifinals, and National Finals, the first buzzer that the viewers saw all belonged to teenagers. In order, those names are Elijah Browning, Max Feinberg, and Isaiah Thomas.

Check out our initial recaps of their first buzzers. Below the recaps, we’ve shared more thoughts on this subject.

Night one of the Qualifiers

Elijah Browning: Elijah loudly announced the arrival of the teens to the leaderboard when the ANW Jr alum cruised through the course. He took the Spinning Log and never looked back. After a perfect trip across V Formation, he bounced up the Warped Wall to take the title of the youngest Ninja to hit a buzzer (so far).

Night one of the Semifinals

Max Feinberg: A self-declared “proud band geek,” Max is also a 16-year-old Ninja phenom. After initially struggling on Tilt-A-Whirl, he was then confident on Wall to Wall. He kicked his heels up as he trotted into the back half of the course. Wearing a shirt that reminded us his mother is going through breast cancer, Max popped up the Salmon Ladder and daringly picked the Inverter. He became the first to complete it, with a totally calm attitude to boot. After some steady work on the Spider Trap, Max became the first teen to complete a Semifinals course!

Night one of the National Finals

Isaiah Thomas: Isaiah, 16, goes by the nickname “Flyboy” for good reason. He took a perfect ride through Double Dipper. Isaiah slipped slightly while locking into the Spider Trap but had it under control. This was obviously a good run. We thought he would be the first to jump for The High Road, but he let it pass him by. No worries though, he had plenty of time left on the Fly Hooks. Isaiah called the course “light work” after hitting the buzzer with over 30 seconds remaining. We had our first finish and our teen moving to Stage Two!

Naming these the “first” buzzers of each round does need a bit of an asterisk. The order can change around between what happened on set and what we saw on TV. However, the first buzzer shown is a big indicator of the storyline the producers are sharing with us.

The message was loud and clear. The story of season 13, from Qualifiers to the National Finals, was the inclusion of the monumental, and young, athletes. The next generation is here.
