Wednesday was supposed to be a “do-over” for the Morristown zoning board.
After failing to properly advertise its meeting on Aug. 18, 2021, the board posted video from that session, and residents were going to get a chance this week to question developers’ experts about their testimony.
But on Tuesday an interested resident pointed out to town officials that Wednesday evening happens to be the start of Yom Kippur, the holiest day on the Jewish calendar, and he intends to attend synagogue.
“The meeting is being rescheduled for the following week. Please check our website for updates,” town Administrator Jillian Barrick emailed the resident on Tuesday night.
A do-over of a do-over, you might say.
The board had been scheduled to hear more virtual testimony about Turtle II, a 28-unit apartment complex proposed for a Madison Avenue office parking lot.
Another application discussed at the Aug. 18 meeting — a convenience store pitched for a Delta gas station at Washington and Mills streets — also had been listed for Wednesday. But it was adjourned to a special meeting on Sept. 22 before the Yom Kippur conflict was raised.
