2 in Lake Shore Drive crash had been shot, 1 fatally - Chicago Tribune

Two of three men who were in a car crash early Tuesday on Lake Shore Drive in the Gold Coast had been shot, one of them fatally, according to Chicago police.

Officers were called to the 1100 block of North Lake Shore Drive about 12:45 a.m. where a silver Nissan Sentra had struck a light post from a northbound lane, police said in a media notification. Three men were found inside the Sentra, two of them suffering gunshot wounds.

A 32-year-old man had suffered two gunshot wounds to his torso, police said. He was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital where he later was pronounced dead.

A second man, 20, suffered two gunshot wounds to his arm and he was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where his condition was stabilized, police said.

Another man, 25, suffered minor injuries as a result of the car crash, according to officials. He had been listed in good condition but it was not immediately clear whether he was treated at a hospital.

No arrests had been made as of Tuesday morning.
