After a long summer in Syracuse, it’s easy to forget the last time we had bitterly cold temperatures and accumulating snow.

What You Need To Know

  • Syracuse had 18 days in 2021 with temperatures of 90 degrees or higher

  • The last time the temperature in Syracuse was sub-zero was on Feb. 12

  • April 22 was the last time Syracuse had accumulating snow

This summer was certainly a hot and humid one. In fact, we had 18 days with temperatures hitting 90 degrees or higher in Syracuse.

So when was the last time we had a temperature of 0 or lower?

You have to go all the way back to Feb. 12 when Syracuse had a low temperature of -1. The last time Syracuse had a temperature of 32 degrees, you have to go all the way back to April 22 when the low temperature hit 29.

It’s been a long time since we’ve seen snowflakes fly in Syracuse.

The last time Syracuse saw accumulating snow was also April 22. 2.7 inches of snow accumulated at the Syracuse Hancock International Airport.

While the fall season just technically started, the cold and snow will be here before you know it.
