Ole Miss thwarted an Arkansas two-point conversion on the final play of the game to hold off the Razorbacks 52-51 on Saturday in a game that saw a combined six fourth-quarter touchdowns and nearly 1,300 total yards over four quarters.
In a back-and-forth game where neither team took more than a one-possession lead, the No. 17 Rebels took the lead for good when Matt Corral found Braylon Sanders for a 68-yard touchdown with 1:07 left to make it 52-45. The No. 13 Razorbacks responded by driving 75 yards in nine plays over the final minute, with KJ Jefferson hitting Warren Thompson for a touchdown as time expired.
Rather than play overtime on the road, Arkansas went for the win, but Ole Miss put heavy pressure on Jefferson as he rolled to his right and his pass sailed over his intended receiver.
Corral passed for 287 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 94 yards and two more touchdowns. Arkansas piled up 676 yards of offense, including 350 on the ground.
The 52 points were the most Ole Miss has ever scored against a ranked opponent, while Arkansas' 51 points were its most ever in a loss.
Both teams were coming off their first losses of the season; Ole Miss lost to No. 1 Alabama and Arkansas lost to No. 2 Georgia last week.
