Ohio State basketball: Seth Towns could to try out for WWE? - Scarlet and Game

In a hilarious social media exchange, the Ohio State basketball star seems to think he has the chops to be a professional wrestler.

The Ohio State basketball team is looking for big things from Seth Towns now that he has fully recovered from a knee injury he suffered at Harvard two seasons ago. There shouldn’t be anything holding him back from being a key contributor for the Buckeyes in 2021-22.

Well, one thing might be holding him back. Towns apparently has caught the eyes of people in charge of talent acquisition over at the WWE. Apparently, they DM’d him asking him if he’d like to try out for the organization. Towns seemed to enjoy that attention.

Come on WWE. Don’t try to poach our players! Besides, Towns is too skinny to be a professional wrestler. He only weighs 230 pounds at his 6’8 stature. He’d suffer many more knee injuries wrestling than he would playing basketball at that size and stature.

All kidding aside, Towns will need to be a big part of the picture for Ohio State this season. He will have a shot to start if he’s healthy, but will likely come off the bench and backup Justice Sueing yet again this season. That’s especially true if he still isn’t 100% healthy.

I would suspect that Towns is healthy again after a strong summer. He needs to be the primary scorer off the bench for the Buckeyes. I could see him having a really nice year and averaging around 12 points off the bench if he can stay healthy.

But hey, if the NBA dream ends up not working out it’s always nice to know that Towns has a backup career he can pursue!
