Mute or mute not. There is no try. - Verizon Communications

It’s Star Wars Day, so let us be the first to say “May the 4th be with you!”

There’s never been a better time to be a Star Wars fan if you’re one of the Verizon customers enjoying a free year of Disney+. As of today, Disney+ is streaming “The Rise of Skywalker,” the final chapter of the Skywalker saga, as well as “Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian,” roundtable discussions with showrunner Jon Favreau that go behind the scenes of the critically acclaimed series.

Today, we want to talk about the videoconferencing that so many of us are doing from home these days. Verizon’s recent acquisition of BlueJeans is poised to unlock even more video conferencing possibilities down the line when the deal closes. In the meantime, V Teamers continue to show off their videoconferencing creativity:

  • Deep in the heart of Texas, Ysa Tan, Senior Engineer from Irving, turned a recent video conference into a karaoke paradise, highlighted by a performance of “We Are The World”, a choice that was as musical as it was timely.
  • In New Jersey, Eric Chanowich, Director of National Distribution, and his team bonded over a “Wacky Friday” call that showcased spirit, humor and some serious sartorial prowess.
  • Over in Minnesota, Tanya Lahti, District Manager of Indirect Distribution Sales, posted a pic of her Director, Khris Stillman, on his hat-tastic videoconference, prompting laughs and regional pride.
  • Caroline Hetzel, a Program Coordinator in New York, NY, chronicled her production team’s virtual happy hour featuring crazy costumes, filters and a cameo by an anthropomorphic avocado.

But we know we’re just scratching the surface. Send a screenshot or a 15-second video of your funniest, most creative and coolest videoconferences to good@verizon.com. You just might see it featured on a future episode of Up To Speed.
