A man is accused of traveling nearly 700 miles to try to meet and sexually abuse a child in Georgia, authorities said.
The person he actually met, however, was an undercover police officer in Floyd County.
Curtis Allen Min, 42, is accused of leaving his home in Washington, D.C., driving to Georgia and trying to meet someone under the age of 16, according to Floyd County police. He faces counts of attempted child molestation and obscene internet contact with a child, jail records show.
In several online messages, Min allegedly described sex acts that he wanted to do and arranged a meeting in Floyd County, police confirmed. He thought he was contacting a child, but he was actually messaging an undercover detective.
Officers arrested him Saturday when he showed up to the meeting spot.
In addition to the felony charges, Min faces counts of obstruction, interference with government property and misdemeanor marijuana possession, according to jail records. He remains in custody without bond.
