With spring here and summer just a few weeks away, now is the time to plan for a warm-weather getaway.

You may be desperate to get away for a bit and itching to cure some of those winter blues. A safe vacation might be the perfect way to do that, especially with more and more people getting the COVID-19 vaccine. Travel pods are becoming a trendy way of vacationing, too.

A couple ways to safely vacation? Book a secluded home rental or take a road trip in an RV. The perk of home rentals is you can have the whole place to yourself without worrying about other people nearby, like you would have in a hotel or resort. As for an RV, you can travel long-distance without having to stop to stay in a hotel.

The most notable way to book a home rental is through Airbnb, but those fill up quickly and can sometimes be hard to find.

If you want to avoid the hassle of trying to snag an Airbnb, there are plenty of alternative options, including from Vrbo, Plum Guide and RVShare, that you can browse and book right now.

This vacation rental online marketplace, which is owned by Expedia, is very similar to Airbnb. You can find everything from bungalows to villas, such as this Mickey Mouse-themed home in Kissimmee, Fla.
