Chicago Bulls (25-35) at Miami Heat (32-29)
Let’s try this again.
Here’s a few suggestions for a happier result.
1). Don’t give up 61 points in the first half. Don’t fall behind by 20 points through two quarters and expect to come all the way back against a Miami Heat team that is halfway competent.
2). Don’t play Denzel Valentine if the game is close late. A horribly ill advised 3-point field goal attempt was the final nail in the coffin for the Bulls last night. At this point, we’ve probably all seen the play.
Look at all the Bulls players simultaneously drop their heads after the shot. You can almost feel the air get knocked out of them after seeing how bad it was.
Somebody in the Twitter world did a thread of the lowlights of Valentine’s career. He titles the thread ‘Denzel Valentine is the worst player in NBA history.’
On a more pressing note than what to do with Denzel Valentine, the Chicago Bulls need to figure out how to win a freaking basketball game.
It’s absolutely not right that a team 10 games under .500 in an already weak Eastern Conference has an opportunity to make the playoffs. But I guess beggars can’t be choosers. The Bulls are two games out of the 10th seed. They share the same record with the Toronto Raptors. There are 12 games to go. If the Bulls want to make the playoffs it’s time to get serious.
Injury Report:
Same for the Bulls, no LaVine or Troy Brown
For the Heat, a bit of difference from the last matchup: Victor Oladipo remains out, and is joined by Andre Iguodala after he played 18 minutes on Friday. Tyler Herro and Kendrick Nunn are both now listed as questionable, whereas Goran Dragic is off the injury report after a rest night so he is likely in and playing tonight.
