CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – If our online poll is any indication, the video gambling machines at the new Oak Grove Racing facility are going to be a big hit when they open this week.
Of close to 1,000 people responding, almost 60% said they’re excited to try the HRMs, or “historical racing machines” – essentially video gambling machines that allow people to bet on races that have already taken place.
Here are the poll results, as of 9 a.m. Monday:
- I’m excited to give it a try! 59.5%
- I’m glad its there, but it’s not for me. 20.4%
- I don’t like the idea of betting. 20.1%
The new Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel opens Friday, Sept. 18, with a 128-room hotel, four restaurants, ballroom spaces, an outdoor stage for concerts, and an indoor equestrian center.
