Racist extremist groups, including neo-Nazis and other white supremacists, may be seeking to infect police officers and Jews with the coronavirus, according to an ABC News report.
The network obtained an alert, from the FBI’s New York office, stating that “members of extremist groups are encouraging one another to spread the virus, if contracted, through bodily fluids and personal interactions.”
The alert was sent Thursday to local police agencies, ABC News reported.
It warned that extremists may try to use spray bottles to spray bodily fluids toward police officers, and spread the disease to Jews by going “any place they may be congregated, to include markets, political offices, businesses and places of worship.”
According to ABC News, white supremacist posts on the Internet have been blaming Jews and Jewish leaders for both the coronavirus and the ensuing shutdowns in places such as New York, New Jersey and California.
