SAGINAW, MI — Delicious Sweets Bakeshop, known for custom cakes and other delectable desserts, is now offering “Kake Shakes.”
The sweet and creamy new offering is a cake-inspired milkshake. Flavor options include Banana Pudding, Coco Krazy, Red Velvet, and Strawberry Shortcake, a customer favorite. The bakery offered them for the first time in August and owner Cierra Warren said they were a big hit.
Kake Shakes are made with ice cream and milk and some have brownies, cookies, cake, candy and other sweets mixed in or served on top.
“I just started coming up with all these crazy flavors and the response was great,” Warren said.
Warren recently introduced new flavors, including Mr. Grinch, made with green vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup and topped with whipped cream, green Christmas sprinkles, a Little Debbie Christmas Tree cake, Mint + Dark Chocolate Kit Kat, peppermint stick and other festive candy, and Frosted Gingerbread Cookie, which is made with seasonal treat eggnog. They’re priced at $8 apiece or two for $14 during December.
Delicious Sweets Bakeshop has locations inside the Fashion Square Mall food court, 4787 Fashion Square Mall in Saginaw Township, and the SVRC Marketplace, 203 S. Washington Ave. in downtown Saginaw.
Kake Shakes are available weekdays after 3 p.m. and all day Saturday and Sunday at the Fashion Square Mall location. They’re also available all day on Friday at the SVRC Marketplace location.
Warren started her company about 10 years ago in her Pontiac home when she was still a teenager. Less than a decade later, she had opened two storefronts and hired a staff. Warren named her shakes after her late grandmother Linda Kaye “Kakes” Burrow, who encouraged and supported her as a first-time business owner.
“I wanted to be kind of over the top,” Warren said of the extravagant shakes. “My grandmother was sweet and she can be a little extra and over the top...that’s how I got the name ‘Kake Shake.’”

SVRC Marketplace is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. It is closed Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Other marketplace tenants include Makin’ Bacon, The BoardRoom, City Cafe Coffee & Pastries, Falafel Hut, Divine Taste of Chicago, Ox Eye Media, and, coming soon, Fig & Honey Cheese Co.
Fashion Square Mall is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
