The Democratic leader earlier in the day warned that the two conservative justices would "pay the price" if they voted against abortion rights. "I would call on Schumer to apologize, but we all know he has no shame," Hawley tweeted. "So tomorrow I will introduce a motion to censure Schumer for his pathetic attempt at intimidation" of SCOUS.

He also called Schumer's comment "disgusting, shameful, and frankly, WEAK."

Hawley will likely face an uphill climb to successfully censure Schumer; the Senate has only censured nine members since 1789, according to the Senate Historical Office. 

“I want to tell you, Justice Kavanaugh and Justice Gorsuch, you have unleashed a whirlwind, and you will pay the price,” Schumer said. “You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.”

 on a Louisiana abortion law that could see the court revisit the protections that emerged in the landmark Roe v. Wade decision.
